We are saddened to hear the news that Preston ‘P-Stone’ Maigetter has passed away. It’s been reported that the legendary Thrasher filmer, who has directed, filmed and edited over 20 full-length skateboarding videos, was a passenger in a fatal car accident yesterday. Our thoughts are with P-Stone’s family and the countless people he worked with in skateboarding over roughly two decades filming the best skateboarders in the world.

Tributes are flowing in across Instagram. This sentiment from photographer Joe Hammeke sums up his larger than life character:

“He knew directions to anywhere in the world even if he'd never been there before. He never took shotgun in the van unless he was navigating; could cook anything on a bbq grill; offered to bartend at an overcrowded bar so we could all get free drinks; the Jedi Master of the clean plate club; friend to everyone, and could clear any room, vehicle or train with his farts. Rest easy, Big Dog. There's cold beer in heaven.”

Rest in peace P-Stone.

A GoFundMe has been set up to raise funds for Preston’s wife and two sons. Contributions can be made here.
