Theophilos Constantinou founded Paradigm Publishing in Philadelphia back in 2011. Theo travelled around the country, interviewing people who interested him for his blog. Within a few years, that blog had become an independently operated publishing house with a growing network of contributors. The inaugural printed publication Genesis included the work of around 60 writers, artists and creatives from around the globe, who came together to appreciate one truth: life transcends reason.

As Paradigm continues to grow and evolve, so has its mission: to record and share a living, breathing history of the human experience, to shine light on diverse perspectives, emphasising connections before differences.

The name of the capsule “Life Before” was inspired by the book Uninhabitable Earth – Life After Warming by David Wallace-Wells, which talks about worst-case scenarios of where our planet is heading, describing what the world could look like at the end of our civilisation.

Life Before represents all of us who are aware of these dangers and are trying to change the archaic systems that caused them. The capsule aims to be as sustainable as possible, aligning with adidas’s ambitions to stop using virgin materials and create products built to last.
