Catch Eric Winkowski, Jake Wooten and Rob Pace rip a ramp on a night of nostalgia to celebrate the iconic skate art of Jim Phillips.

Jim Phillips’ brightly coloured, eye-catching artworks have had a huge influence on the way skateboard graphics have looked since the 1970s. Phillips worked as an artist and designer for NHS (Santa Cruz, Independent, OJs) during the ’70s and ’80s and is best known for the iconic Santa Cruz ‘Screaming Hand’ logo. Many of his works will be on display at the Speed Wheels Art Show, which celebrates the art of Jim Phillips and Phillips studio from 1985 to 1991, a period that was a golden era for skateboard graphics.  

The show will kick off on Friday, February 10, from 6pm at Time & Space Gallery, Burleigh Heads. A few of the Santa Cruz team – including Eric Winkowski, Jake Wooten and Rob Pace – will be there to rip up a mini ramp in the car park of the exhibition.

The event is free and no booking is required.
