For 50 years, Hardcore has been at the centre of Australian skateboarding. From humble beginnings building DIY decks and warehouse ramps to shopping-centre demos, ramp riots, Easter tours, and stadium-sized spectacles, Hardcore's story is deeply intertwined with the history and evolution of skateboarding in Australia.
Hardcore – 50 Years of Skateboarding in Australia is a new, near-500-page coffee table book celebrating that history and the people who helped shape it. What began in 1974 with Peter, Stephen and Matt Hill’s obsession with skateboarding would grow into Hardcore Enterprises, eventually becoming Globe and an international, publicly listed company.
Across five decades, Hardcore has played an undeniable role in developing Australian skateboarding culture, supporting generations of skaters and helping take Australian skateboarding to the world.
Published by Thames & Hudson, Hardcore – 50 Years of Skateboarding in Australia is now available from good book and skate shops across Australia, and online HERE.
